Iran Upsets Poland in FIVB World League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Asian giant Iran achieved its first victory in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League match in Pesaro, Italy on Sunday.

The Iranian team overpowered Poland 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 23-25, 22-25) in the competition.

Amir Ghafour contributed 19 points to Iran’s win. Mohammadjavad Manavinezhad added another 17.

Poland’s Dawid Konarski was the best scorer of the match with 20 points.

This was Iran’s fourth World League victory over Poland in the total of nine encounters the two sides have had in the history of the competition.

Iran started the campaign with a 3-0 loss to host Italy and then was defeated against Brazil 3-1.
