Iranian Players Played with Their Hearts: Igor Kolakovic

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team's coach Igor Kolakovic said that his men played with their hearts against Belgium.

Iran defeated Belgium 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-23, 15-12) in the full-packed Azadi’s 12000 spectators in Pool D1 Friday night.

“It was a difficult match between Iran and Belgium. I respect the work of Vital Heynen, the coach of Belgium. This year, Belgium has improved a lot with him. They showed good performance and power,” Kolakovic said in the post-match news conference.

“I am so happy because we got the victory especially with the spectators who supported us. And also for the players who played with their hearts at the court."

"In the first set, we played under pressure maybe because it was the first game at home. But, we got better at the other sets especially in the fifth set,” he added.

“In important moments, we kept calm. I am so happy because we made this victory,” Kolakovic concluded.
