Iranian Greco-Roman Team Win Asian Junior Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers claimed the title of the 2017 Asian Junior Wrestling Championships in Taiwan.

The Iranian team won the competition, earning five gold medals and two silvers.

In the 50kg weight class, Poya Soulat won the gold medal after defeating Alpamys Dastanbek from Kazakhstan.

Mohammad Javad Saadat Rezaei beat Kyrgyzstan’s Zholaman Sharshenbekov in the 55kg final match.

In the 60kg class final match, Keramat Abdevali lost to Seydylla Tazayev from Turkmenistan and bagged a silver medal.

The third gold went to Amin Yavar Kaviyaninezhad who defeated Kazakhstan’s Merey Bekenov in the 66kg final.

In 84kg class, Mehdi Mohammad Bali beat Kalidin Asykeev from Kyrgyzstan and won a gold medal.

Amirmohammad Norouzi claimed a silver medal in 96kg class after being defeated by Temur Mirzo Mamajanov from Uzbekistan.

And finally, Amirmohammad Hajipour grabbed Iran’s fifth gold, defeating Satish Satish from India.   

The final team scores for Greco-Roman were Iran 71, Kazakhstan 58 and India 55.
