Palestinians Relying on Iran-Led Axis of Resistance: Politician

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary-general of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF) praised Iran’s supports for Palestinians and said the oppressed people are counting on the Axis of Resistance led by the Islamic Republic.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency on the occasion of the International Quds Day, Khalid Abd al-Majid slammed some Arab states for their efforts to normalize relations with the Israeli regime.

He said the Palestinian people have no faith in some Arab states because they not only have abandoned their support for Palestinians but also are hatching plots against the nation.

“Therefore, we only rely on the role of our people in confronting the Zionist occupiers and the roles of the Islamic Ummah (community) and the Axis of Resistance, whose members are the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah,” he noted.

The Palestinian political figure went on to say that this year’s Quds Day is unique because of some reasons, including the gaps that have been created in the Arab world on the Palestinian issue.

Each year, the International Quds Day is celebrated across the world on the last Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

The event’s raison d'être is renewing support for the Palestinians and denunciation of Israel.

The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
