Iran U-21 Volleyball Coach Very Happy for Win over Ukraine

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-21 volleyball coach is very satisfied with the win over Ukraine at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship.

On Saturday, Iran defeated Ukraine 3-2 (25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 20-25, 15-13) in Pool C.

“This match was very important for us, if we could win this, we could go to another level – and we did,” Ataei told fivb.org.

“Ukraine was not playing on its top level in the match against Argentina on Friday but the team was very strong against us and ticked all the boxes of strong volleyball play. My players were tired due to hard match against Italy and now I’m very happy with this result,” he added.

Mykola Pasazhin, coach of Ukraine, also said: “The main problem of our play is our attack. We did not make the most out of it in the match against Iran. We were very weak in our attack during the first two sets and recovered as a team later on but Iran proved too strong.”
