Yemenis to Stage Massive Anti-Saudi Rally in Sana’a

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemen’s people plan to stage a massive rally in the capital, Sana’a, this Friday to voice their outrage over continued acts of aggression against the Arabian Peninsula country by the Saudi-led coalition.

In a statement on Tuesday, a Yemeni committee tasked with holding the anniversary of the establishment of the “Outcry Movement” called on the Arab country’s people from all walks of life to attend the Friday rally.

The committee called the demonstration an opportunity to strengthen resistance and vigilance in the face of threats posed against Yemen and the Islamic community.

The demonstration would come as Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the Saudi-led coalition for more than two years.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
