Iranian Official Condemns Israeli Crimes in Quds, Urges Fatah to Cut Tel Aviv Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The secretary general of the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada condemned a recent surge in Israeli atrocities against al-Aqsa Mosque worshippers and people in al-Quds (Jerusalem), calling on Fatah political party to sever ties with the Tel Aviv regime.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the recent stances the Palestinian resistance leaders have adopted in condemnation of the Zionist regime’s crimes, and deems it necessary for the Fatah movement to cut relations with the occupying regime (Israel),” Hossein Amir Abdollahian, who is also a special adviser to Iran’s parliament speaker, said on Sunday.

He also said that Palestinian demonstrations held on Friday, the day of anger, indicated that the nation has run out of patience with the Israeli crimes.

Amir Abdollahian stressed that putting restrictions on Palestinian worshipers in al-Aqsa Mosque runs counter to the international law and the commitment the Israeli regime has undertaken, warning that stronger limitations on “the true owners of Palestine” would trigger a new Intifada.

Several Palestinians have been killed and hundreds more injured in recent weeks amid mass protests over new Israeli security measures at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

At least 3,000 Israeli police and border police units had been deployed to the area, according to a police spokesman.

Israel tightened its grip on the compound after two Israeli security officers were killed in an alleged attack by three Palestinians, who were killed by Israeli police following the violence.

Over the past week, there have been daily demonstrations and clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians.
