Iran Ready to Set Up Field Hospital for Palestinians Injured in Israeli Attacks: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Secretary General of the International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada Hossein Amir Abdollahian condemned recent Israeli attacks against Muslims in the occupied territories and said Iran is prepared to launch a field hospital to treat injured Palestinians.

Speaking in a Sunday meeting with Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Tehran, Amir Abdollahian decried the “savage attacks” of the Israeli regime’s forces on al-Aqsa Mosque that have led to the killing and injuring of a large number of Palestinians.

“These acts by the Zionist regime, which are based on aggression and slaughter, will not remain unanswered,” the official, who is also a special adviser to Iran’s parliament speaker, warned.

He further emphasized that the Islamic Republic is ready to send medical aid, dispatch a team of experienced physicians and launch a makeshift hospital in the nearest possible place to the occupied territories to help hundreds of Palestinians injured in the Israeli attacks.

Abu Sharif, for his part, stressed the need for all Muslims around the world to boost unity and adopt a firm stance against the Israel regime’s crimes.

Several Palestinians have been killed and hundreds more injured in recent weeks amid mass protests over new Israeli security measures at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

At least 3,000 Israeli police and border police units had been deployed to the area, according to a police spokesman.

Israel tightened its grip on the compound after two Israeli security officers were killed in an alleged attack by three Palestinians, who were killed by Israeli police following the violence.

Over the past week, there have been daily demonstrations and clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians.
