Iran's Three-Athlete Team to Travel to London Thursday

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s three-athlete contingent will travel to London, England on Thursday to take part at the IAAF World Championships 2017.

The prestigious competition will be held from August 4 to 13 at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

The IAAF World Championships London 2017 will bring a record 2038 athletes from 205 teams to the British capital.

Hassan Keyhani will participate at the world’s 3000 Meters Steeplechase for the first time.

Discus thrower Ehsan Hadadi and sprinter Hassan Taftian are also representing Iran in the event.

Taftian, Iran's national record holder at 10.04, held off Asian record holder Femi Ogunode by a scant 0.01 in 10.25 to capture his country's first title in the Asian Athletics Championships in early July.
