Iran Spares No Effort to Strengthen Security in Asia: President Rouhani
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the Islamic Republic would not hesitate to take all necessary measures to strengthen security in Asia.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will not hesitate to take any action in order to promote and reinforce security and stability in Asia,” Rouhani said on Saturday in a meeting with Chung Sye-kyun, the speaker of the South Korean National Assembly, in Tehran.
Referring to the ongoing crises across the globe, he urged all countries to lay aside their differences and settle their disputes via political means.
Rouhani also called for the expansion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Seoul in various sectors, including transportation, new technologies industry, banking, oil, gas and petrochemistry.
Sye-kyun, for his part, said peace and security could be only achieved through dialogue.
He further voiced his country’s readiness to develop its mutual cooperation with Iran in different arenas, particularly banking, IT (information and technology), and new technologies.
The top Korean official has visited the Iranian capital to attend Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration, due to be held at the parliament on Saturday evening.
