According to Khaama Press, the number of casualties caused by the incident has not been confirmed yet, but the security forces reported about at least one person killed and one injured in the explosion.

The blast reportedly sounded in the Bala Hissar area in the vicinity of the city center, Sputnik reported.

So far, no group or individual has taken responsibility for the explosion, the news outlet adds.

Kabul regularly suffers from terror bombings, with numerous terrorist groups active in the country.

On July 31, a suicide bomber set off an explosion at the gates of the Iraqi embassy in the Afghan capital, followed by a four-hour firefight. On July 25, a car bomb killed at least 27 and injured another 41 city residents. The Daesh (also known as ISIL or ISIS) and Taliban terrorist groups, both outlawed in Russia, claimed their responsibility for the attacks.
