Iran Comes 16th at World Junior Water Polo Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran finished in 16th place at the 19th edition of the FINA World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championships.

On Saturday, the Iranian team lost to Egypt 16-8 in the 15-16 classification. 

Iran lost to Russia, Greece, USA, Netherlands and Egypt and defeated Puerto Rico and South Africa in the competition.

The 19th edition of the FINA World Men’s Junior Water Polo Championships is taking place in Belgrade, Serbia, from August 5-20, 2017.

The competition gathers 20 teams from the five continents, an increase of two teams since the previous edition two years ago in Almaty (KAZ), where 18 teams battled it out for the crown.
