Iran’s Security Result of Coordination among Intelligence Organizations: MP

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi praised the security situation in the country and said it is an outcome of close coordination among intelligence organizations.

Speaking at an open session of the parliament on Wednesday, Boroujerdi defended Mahmoud Alawi, the nominee for the post of intelligence minister who had the same job over the past four years, and praised his performance in his first term.

“The intelligence dominance that the Intelligence Ministry has maintained over these years is evident in all domestic and foreign affairs,” he said.

He further hailed the ministry’s close cooperation with the IRGC’s intelligence forces, and said, “The world should know that the (high) level of security in the country definitely indicates that there is precise coordination and cooperation among our intelligence organizations.”

Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
