Iran Eases Past Turkey at FIVB Men's U-23 Volleyball World Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran eased past Turkey at the 2017 FIVB Men's U-23 Volleyball World Championship on Monday.

Juan Cichello’s men confirmed its place in the second round of championship with a surprisingly comfortable straight-sets win (15-12, 15-9, 17-15, 15-10) over Turkey in Pool B at Cairo Stadium.

The victory improved Iran's record to 3 victories against a lone defeat, while Turkey remained winless in 4 matches with 0-4 record.

Iran's big gun Sahand Allahverdian was the one behind the great victory by scoring 11 points as the match scorer, while Melih Siratca led the loser's scorers with 10 points.

Iran will play Russia on Wednesday.

The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-23 World Championship is the third edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for men's national teams under the age of 23, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB.
