Iranian Deputy FM, Hezbollah Chief Meet in Beirut

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari held talks with Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah on regional and international issues.

In their meeting, held in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Tuesday, Jaberi Ansari and Nasrallah exchanged views about the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon and Syria.

Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali also attended the session.

Heading a high-ranking political delegation, Jaberi Ansari arrived in Beirut on Monday at the invitation of the Lebanese government.

Three weeks ago, Iranian Parliament speaker's special adviser on international affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, had paid an official visit to Lebanon in a bid to boost Tehran-Beirut ties.

In a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut on July 31, Amir Abdollahian underscored that Iran will keep providing effective support for the anti-Israeli axis of resistance in Lebanon.
