Iran Eyes Exporting Military Equipment to Prevent Conflicts: Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Defense Minister said many regional conflicts take place in countries that have weaknesses and, therefore, Iran’s Defense Ministry plans to export military equipment to prevent conflicts in the region.

Today, the Defense Ministry supplies the needs of the country’s armed forces in all areas, Brigadier General Amir Hatami told the IRIB.

“As we know, many instabilities in the region happen in places where countries are facing weakness,” he added. “Hence, in order to prevent wars, the issue of exporting military equipment is on our agenda.

“Here, our objective is different from that of colonialist countries (because) we do it for establishing stability in the region.”

The general also highlighted the importance of defense diplomacy in a region that is suffering from insecurity and terrorism.

He went on to say that Iran will continue its advisory support for the Resistance Front.

In the past few years, Iran has provided advisory support for Syria and Iraq in their fight against foreign-back terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS).
