10 Saudi Mercenaries Killed in Yemeni Forces’ Fresh Attacks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees launched fresh retaliatory attacks against mercenaries of the Riyadh regime, killing 10 of them in the west-central province of Marib.

In a major operation in Sirwah District in Marib on Friday, 10 mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, were shot to death by the Yemeni forces, a military source told the Arabic-language Al Mayadeen TV.

In another development, the Yemeni forces pounded gatherings of Saudi servicemen and their military bases, in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Najran.

The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former president.

According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
