Iranian President to Leave for New York Tomorrow

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is slated to start his trip to the US city of New York on Sunday to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, due to be held next week.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, President Rouhani will leave Tehran for New York early on Sunday.

The president is planned to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday from 11 am to 12 pm local time.

During his short trip to the US, Rouhani will also attend meetings with Iranian expatriates living in the US, Muslims and political elites as well as media men.

Rouhani will also participate in discussions at the General Assembly session in New York, which runs from September 19 to 25.

The general debate would revolve around ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’.
