21st Session of IFRC General Assembly to Be Held in October


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The 21st session of the General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) will be held next month.

The IFRC will see elections for the elected positions of the federation’s president, four vice presidents, and twenty National Society Governing Board members in October, according to the official website of the IFRC.

Seyed Mohsen Ziaie Esterabadi and Chen Zhue, respectively from Iran and China, have been introduced as two candidates for the position of vice president in the Asia Pacific region.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world's largest humanitarian network that reaches 150 million people in 190 National Societies through the work of over 17 million volunteers.

Guided by Strategy 2020, its collective plan of action is to tackle the major humanitarian and development challenges of this decade.
