AIMAG: Iran’s Gold Tally Reaches to 35

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian athletes claimed nine more gold medals at Day 11 of the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) on Tuesday.

Iran won two gold medals in kickboxing. Mahmoud Sattari finished in first place in the Men's Low Kick -81kg and Mahmoud Farajpour claimed the gold in Men's Point Fighting -79kg.

Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers also claimed six gold medals.

Behnam Mehdizadeh in Men's Greco-Roman 130 kg, Farshad Belfake in Men's Greco-Roman -71 kg, Pejman Poshtam in Men's Greco-Roman -75 kg, Mahdi Ebrahimi in Men's Greco-Roman -80 kg, Saman Azizi in Men's Greco-Roman -85 kg and Amirhossein Hosseini in Men's Greco-Roman -98 kg snatched six gold medals.

Iran men’s futsal team also won a gold medal after defeating Uzbekistan 7-1 in the final match.

The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games kicked off in Turkmenistan’s capital last Saturday.

More than 6,000 athletes and team officials are representing 65 countries in the games.
