Iran’s 10-Truck Aid Convoy Enters Syria’s Aleppo

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A convoy consisting of 10 Iranian trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the eastern countryside of Aleppo province in Syria on Tuesday.

The trucks were carrying medical and food supplies to residents of Aleppo, said a member of the Executive Office of the Aleppo Governorate’s Council, Abdul-Ghani Qassab, SANA reported.

Weighing around 200 tons, the trucks also included clothes and stationery, he added.

Qassab noted that the delivery was part of the friendly relations between Iran and Syria.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh, currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
