Iran, Armenia Ink Three Cooperation Agreements in Various Fields

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Senior officials from Iran and Armenia signed three cooperation agreements in diverse fields in a bid to promote bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.

The documents were signed in a meeting attended by Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri and Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan in Tehran on Monday.

They include a cooperation agreement on veterinary medicine and animal hygiene, a document on cultural and artistic exchanges, and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran’s vice-presidency for science and technology affairs and Armenia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Investments.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Karapetyan started his official visit to Iran on Monday at the invitation of Jahangiri.  

The head of the Armenian government is planned to sit down with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and the country’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, according to the official website of Armenia’s Public Radio.

Karapetyan will also visit Ararat Sports Club in Tehran where he is scheduled to meet with representatives of the local Armenian community, including the business community.
