Iran Not to Welcome Wars But to Make Aggressors Regret: IRGC Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force Brigadier General Esmail Qa’ani underlined that although Iran is not a warmonger, it will make any aggressor regret its aggression.

Addressing a ceremony in the northern city of Damghan in Semnan Province on Friday, Brigadier General Qa’ani slammed recent comments made by US President Donald Trump and other US officials against the Islamic Republic and said, “Any nonsense they say will be to their detriment”.

“Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution (in 1979), we have never intended to wage a war against any country, but the global arrogance (the US) and its stooges have always sought for a battle,” the commander noted.

“We do not welcome wars but if anyone invades our country, he will learn a lesson that would no longer even think of aggression (against Iran),” he added.

In recent years, Iran has taken great steps to strengthen its military power in the face of foreign threats.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, stressing that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
