Iranian Sites Come Under Hacking Attacks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A number of Iranian websites came under a cyber-attack on Monday night, Iran’s Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi confirmed.

Iranian Sites Come Under Hacking Attacks

A group of hackers tried to target a number of Iranian sites last night in a defacement attack, Azari Jahromi said on Tuesday.

He added that the attacks were foiled by Iranian cyber-security experts who vigilantly managed to trace and identify the attackers’ domain.

Attaching great importance to cyber-space security, the minister said Iran plans to train some 10,000 cyber-security specialists within 4 years to prevent any similar attacks on the country’s websites.

Last year, Iran’s Civil Defense Organization unveiled plans for developing a nationwide alarm system that would alert the country’s organizations to possible cyberattacks.

It came after a spate of cyberattacks against Iranian websites in June 2016.
