Politics

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni attended the opening ceremony of ‘Iran-Uganda Medical Center’ in Kampala.

Financed by the private sector, the medical center will be administered by a group of Muslim Doctors Without Borders.

The Iranian foreign minister, who arrived in Kampala on Tuesday after visiting South Africa, opened a joint commercial complex in Uganda as well.

Heading a political and economic delegation, Zarif then travelled to Niger in the final leg of his African tour.

Expansion of relations with African nations in the political, economic and cultural fields have been top on the agenda of Iran’s foreign policy.
