Palestine to Remain A Top Priority: Palestinian Archbishop

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The issue of Palestine will remain the top priority of Muslims and Christians, Archbishop Atallah Hanna of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Quds (Jerusalem) said.

Addressing the second edition of the international conference of resistance scholars in Beirut, Lebanon, on Wednesday, he pointed to enemies’ attempts to change priorities of Palestinians and said, “We will never give up Palestine and the Palestinian issue.”

The Palestinian archbishop added, “We will never surrender to those who hatch plots against Quds”

Elsewhere, he commented on the Balfour Declaration, calling it a “scandalous” move to give Zionism the right to eliminate the Palestinian nation.

“The Balfour Declaration cannot change our firm steadfastness in the face of those who hatch plots against Arab people and the Palestinian issue,” Archbishop Hanna went on to say.

More than 200 scholars from over 80 countries are attending the two-day event in Beirut.

“True Promise: Palestine between Balfour Declaration and Divine Promise” is the theme of the conference.

The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government during World War I announcing support for the establishment of the Israeli regime.
