Iran’s Zarif to Attend Caspian Littoral States Meeting in Russia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif plans to participate in a ministerial meeting of Caspian Sea littoral states due to open in Russia on Monday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi announced.  

The seventh ministerial meeting of Caspian Sea littoral states is slated to be held in Moscow on Monday and Tuesday with the Iranian foreign minister in attendance, Qassemi said on Sunday. 

In the visit to Russia, a delegation of Iranian political and legal experts will accompany Zarif, he added.

The spokesman went on to say that the meeting will focus on the draft document of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.

Foreign ministers of Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan will come together for the seventh time to hold talks on the text of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, according to a statement released by Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
