Hamas: Occupiers Own No Land in Palestine to Choose a Capital For
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, slammed Washington’s plan to recognize al-Quds as the Zionist regime of Israel’s capital and said that the occupiers own no land in Palestine to choose a capital for.
The Zionist occupiers have no land in Palestine for which to have a capital city, the Hamas official said in a message posted on his twitter account, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen news channel reported.
Hamas on Tuesday called for a ‘day of rage’ in response to the US’s plan for moving its embassy from Tel-Aviv to Quds.
The resistance group released a message, saying, “We call on the people of Palestine to declare a ‘rage day’ on Friday against Israel, denying the US plan to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Quds and to recognize Quds as Israel’s capital.”
The message emphasized that Jerusalem is a ‘red line’ for the Palestinian people and “the resistance will not allow any desecration of it”.
US President Donald Trump is expected to formally recognize Quds as Israel’s capital and begin preparations to move the US embassy to the city, three senior US administration officials confirmed late Tuesday.
