Yemenis Target Saudi Military Site with Homegrown Ballistic Missile

The missile command of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees fired a short-range ballistic missile on the Saudi air defense site in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Najran, a military official told Saba news agency.

The source said the missile hit its target accurately and inflicted heavy casualties on the Saudi forces and mercenaries at the site.

On Wednesday, Yemeni troops had launched a Qaher M2 missile against an operations center of the Saudi military in Najran.

The missile hit the center, located in the Khadhra crossing point in Najran, and completely destroyed it.

A few days ago, another ballistic missile fired by Yemen’s army had hit a local airport in Saudi Arabia’s southern Jizan region.

The forces of the Arabian Peninsula country have hit Saudi positions with various homegrown missiles, including “Qaher-1”, which has a range of 500 kilometers, and “Borkan-1”.

The attacks are carried out in retaliation for the Saudi-led coalition’s continued airstrikes against the impoverished Arabian Peninsula country.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
