General Warns of Plots to Taint IRGC Image
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps’ spokesperson called for vigilance against hostile plots seeking to tarnish the IRGC’s image and alienate it from the Iranian nation.
In an address to a gathering of IRGC public relations officials on Saturday, General Ramezan Sharif cautioned against a propaganda campaign the enemies have launched to harm the IRGC and damage its reputation in the society.
Media outlets affiliated with the arrogance and Zionism have made huge investment and resorted to various tactics to taint the image of the IRGC and create a rift between such a popular, revolutionary force and the Iranian people, he added.
The general, noted though that the people’s vigilance and admirable efforts by Iranian media outlets have very well publicized the IRGC’s capabilities and its achievements, and have shattered the enemy’s dream of fomenting division between the IRGC and people.
On January 17, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri also warned against hostile schemes to create a rift between people and the IRGC.
There is no gap between the IRGC and the Iranian nation, the general added, saying the enemies are trying to create such a rift because the IRGC has been at the forefront of the fight against the enemies of the Islamic community.
