Zob Ahan Moves Up to IPL Second Place
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Zob Ahan defeated Esteghlal Khuzestan 2-0 to move up to the second place in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Wednesday.
Amir Ghalenoei’s team leapfrogged Pars Jonoubi and Foolad in IPL table.
Mohammadreza Abbasi put the visiting team into the lead in the 81th minute and Morteza Tabrizi made it 2-0 two minutes later.
Zoba Ahan is second with 35 points, 10 points behind IPL leader Persepolis.
On Thursday, Gostaresh Foolad will host Naft Tehran, Esteghlal play Pars Jonoubi, Saipa meet Padideh and Sanat Naft face Sepidrood Rasht.
Siahjamegan will play Tractor Sazi, Sepahan face Foolad, and Persepolis play Paykan.
