3 Saudi Servicemen Killed by Yemeni Snipers in Jizan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Snipers of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in a retaliatory attack against the Saudi-led coalition, shot to death three Saudi servicemen in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan.

The sniper unit of the army and the Popular Committees killed the three Saudi military forces in al-Qaviyeh village in Jizan, Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

Also, Yemeni troops targeted a gathering of the Saudi army and its mercenaries in the province with a new type of a domestically-made missile dubbed “Zelzal-2” (Earthquake-2) and several Katyusha rockets.

The artillery unit of Yemen’s army also pounded positions of the Saudi-led coalition in Qamar village in Jizan, according to the report.

The attacks against Saudi forces came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the Saudi-led coalition.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for about three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
