Syria Army Pushes Back Terrorists in Homs
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian forces and their allies repelled a major attack by Takfiri terrorists in the central province of Homs, inflicting major losses on them.
The militants were killed after they attempted to sneak into Talkalakh region in Homs countryside from the Lebanese territory, SANA reported.
It added that border guards of the Syrian army on Saturday clashed with the terrorists near the village of M’arbo in Talkalakh western countryside while trying to infiltrate through one of the illegal crossings on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
A large group of the terrorists were killed and injured following the counterattack.
Syria is in the final stages of a battle against Takfiri terrorist groups that poured into the Arab country after the outbreak of the civil war in 2011.
On November 19, the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group was flushed out of its last stronghold in Syria’s Al-Bukamal. The city’s liberation marked an end to the group’s self-proclaimed caliphate it had declared in 2014.
