Israel Warplanes Attack Gaza Strip

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Zionist regime of Israel launched new attacks on the Gaza Strip amid escalation of clashes between the Palestinian people and the Israeli forces in the Occupied Lands.

The Israeli fighter jets early on Monday fired several missiles into a Palestinian farm east of Rafah south of the Gaza Strip, International Middle East Media Center reported.

Media sources in the Gaza strip said the Israeli warplanes conducted more than ten attacks on an-Nahda neighborhood in Rafah and its surrounding area.

Also on Sunday, two Palestinian teenagers were killed in the southern area of the besieged Gaza Strip in two waves of Israeli air raids.

At least two other Palestinians have been wounded, one of whom is in critical condition, and are currently treated in a medical facility in Rafah.

The attacks follows a period of rising tensions on Israel's southern border.

Spontaneous protests which were held in recent weeks along the Israel-Gaza border and also the West Bank have been getting more violent in recent days.

The development came as months after the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel capital. The move by the US President Donald Trump in December sparked violent protests in the world and was condemned by majority of the UN member states.

Israel has occupied East Quds since the 1967 Middle East war. It annexed the area in 1980 and sees it as its exclusive domain. Under international law, the area is considered to be occupied territory.
