Iran’s FM Says Balkans, Eastern Europe Tour ‘Successful’
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described his recent four-nation tour of the Balkans and Eastern Europe as “successful”.
“After successful visits to Belgrade, Sofia and Zagreb, in Sarajevo today and pleased to be able to commit to strengthening our deep ties with all Bosnians. Thanking BiH leaders for affirming that the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina will never forget Iran’s long standing support,” Zarif said in a message posted on his Twitter account on Friday upon his return from the trip.
The Iranian foreign minister started the four-nation tour on February 26. It took him to Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Bosnia to discuss ways for expanding relations.
He left Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for Tehran on Friday.
