In a letter to his Tunisian counterpart on Tuesday, President Rouhani congratulated the Arab government and nation on the anniversary of its Independence Day.

In his message, the Iranian president has expressed confidence that strong will of the two countries’ authorities would lead to growing cooperation and stronger brotherly relations in various fields of mutual interest.

Iran’s president has repeatedly stressed his administration’s interest in boosting relations with the African, particularly the Muslim states.

In January 2017, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to Tunisia, proposing plans for regular political negotiations between the two countries.
