Terrorists Continue Rocket Attacks on Damascus

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Fresh rocket attacks by terrorist groups on residential areas of Syria killed a child in capital Damascus on Saturday, as thousands of militants and their families are being evacuated from Eastern Ghouta.

A child was killed and seven other people wounded on Saturday when terrorist groups in Eastern Ghouta fired a rocket at al-Faiha Sport City in Mazra’a neighborhood of Damascus, SANA quoted a source at Damascus Police Command as saying.

Thousands of Damascus residents have fled to Syria’s coastal regions in recent weeks in the wake of intensified shelling attacks by angry terrorists who have to leave Eastern Ghouta, a besieged area on the outskirts of Damascus with some 400,000 people.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has vowed that Syrian forces would continue the military campaign until the whole area is retaken.

Eastern Ghouta fell to militants in 2012, months after Syria plunged into crisis.
