Several Saudi Servicemen Killed in Yemeni Forces’ Fresh Attacks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Forces from the Yemeni army and popular committees launched retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led military coalition, killing several Saudi servicemen in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan, a source said.

World

According to the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, Yemeni troops on Thursday mounted an operation against the Saudi-led coalition in Lahej, a village in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan, killing and injuring a number of Saudi military forces.

In another development, the Yemeni fighters pounded positions of the mercenaries of fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, in the southern province of Taiz.

The Saudi mercenaries suffered serious casulaties in the operation.

The attacks  came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by the Saudi-led coalition.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have been killed in the military campaign.
