General Warns Foes of Silly Moves against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari cautioned the enemies about any stupid action against the country, saying the Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the Islamic Republic.

Addressing the Friday prayers event in Tehran, General Heidari highlighted Iran’s success to fend for itself during an 8-year imposed war in the 1980s shortly after victory of the Islamic Revolution, recommending the archenemies not to make any stupid move.

It would be a mistake to try what has been already tested, the commander warned, emphasizing the unity among people, leadership and military forces in Iran when it comes to safeguarding the revolution.

Iran is known as the region’s most stable country that has been defying excessive demands of the arrogant powers, he added.

General Heidari then shrugged off threats from Israel, saying the Iranian Armed Forces have already begun the countdown to demise of the Zionist regime.

As regards Saudi Arabia’s policy of purchasing and amassing weapons, the Iranian commander said the Saudi rulers mistakenly believe that turning their country into a stockpile of arms could ensure their security.

The comments came a few days after Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said the enemies are well-advised not to test Iran’s power.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has also on several occasions cautioned the adversaries that Iran’s response to any assault will not be confined to defense alone, but aggressors will face a crushing response.

In May 2015, Imam Khamenei made it clear that the Iranian nation will not let any possible act of aggression against the country go unanswered.
