Iran to Send Country’s Biggest Delegation to Asian Games
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is sending its biggest delegation to the upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia.
Iran is going to send 536 athletes to the Games which will be the country’s biggest delegation in the history of Asian Games.
Some 10,000 athletes and officials from 45 nations are expected to compete for medals in 463 events in 40 sports.
These Asian Games are taking place two years prior to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
China has been reigning supreme at the Asian Games, having captured every medal race since Delhi 1982. Catching China, which routinely grabs well over 100 gold medals, will be a tall order for South Korea and Japan, who will once again fight for second place.
Iran will fight for the fourth place.
