Life Returns to Normal in Syria’s Babila (+Photos)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Life has returned to normal in Babila after Syrian forces managed to fully liberate the town, located on the southern outskirts of Damascus to the east of the Yarmouk Camp, from the grip of Takfiri terrorists, a report said.

According to the report carried by SANA on Sunday, Syrians took to the streets of Babila on Sunday, celebrating the freedom of their town.

Um Ratib and her 14-year-old daughter Israa joined Babila residents’ celebrations of victory.

“It is really unspeakable how joyful it is to see our national flag raised in the town,” said Um Ratib with tears in her eyes, stressing that Syria would emerge stronger than before.

Returning to his hometown after six years, university professor Amir Arishi said, “This heartfelt joy is due to sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army.”

“We have been waiting for this joyful moment so long,” said Um Anas, a housewife and a mother of a soldier, reaffirming her support for the Syrian state and army since the very beginning.

In a significant victory early last month, the Syrian army managed to fully liberate the Eastern Ghouta suburb of Damascus, which had long been controlled by militant groups and served as a launch pad for deadly rocket attacks against residents and civilian infrastructure in the capital.

Government forces then went for the districts located south and north of Damascus, including Yarmouk, which hosts a Palestinian refugee camp.

The camp was held by the Daesh Takfiri terror group as well as militants with the so-called Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, al-Qaeda’s former affiliate in Syria.
