Iran Raps Israel’s Brutal Massacre of Palestinians

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s “merciless and unprecedented” killing of Palestinian civilians, including children, calling for international bodies’ immediate reaction.

“The massacre of defenseless Palestinian children, women and people and the occupation of Palestinian territories have turned into the Zionists’ main strategy over the past 70 years…,” Qassemi said in a statement late on Monday.

Today, the US embassy and government celebrated the embassy’s relocation from Tel Aviv to Quds (Jerusalem) concurrent with the brutal massacre of innocent people, he added.

“The non-stop and incessant crimes committed by the Zionists in Palestine are a result of the United States’ relentless support and the treacherous compromise and shameful inaction of some regional governments,” Qassemi said.

“They are undoubtedly responsible for, and accomplices to, the unjust bloodletting in occupied Palestine as well as the sufferings and hardships,” he went on to say.

The Iranian spokesman also called on regional and international organizations to take immediate actions without any hesitation and introduce the Israeli regime to the International Criminal Court as a war criminal.

The Gaza Health Ministry said about 60 Palestinian were killed and more than 2,700 others injured Monday, including 1,360 by live fire. Of the wounded, 130 are in serious or critical condition.

It was the deadliest day in Gaza since a 2014 cross-border war.

On Monday, tens of thousands of Palestinians rallied near Israel's border fence to protest a blockade of their territory and the move of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds that day.

The UN Security Council is set to meet Tuesday to discuss the mass killings of Palestinians by Israeli forces near the Gaza border.
