We Must Win First World Cup Game against Morocco: Jahanbakhsh
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh says picking three points against Morocco is key to his country’s chances of making progress in Group B of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Iran has been drawn along with Morocco, Spain and Portugal.
Team Melli will kick off the competition with a match against Morocco on June 15 at Saint Petersburg Stadium.
“As I’ve already said, the match against Morocco is our most important match in group stage,” Jahanbakhsh said.
“Team Melli has a difficult job against Spain in its second match because they have quality players. Iran has also quality players and we want to defend the honor of our country,” AZ Alkmaar winger said.
Jahanbakhsh represented Team Melli in friendly match against Turkey Monday night.
