World Cup: Iran First Team to Arrive in Russia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran became the first team to arrive in Russia for the 2018 World Cup on Tuesday with nine days remaining to the opening match of the tournament.
Carlos Queiroz’s men are scheduled to face Lithuania in Moscow as part of preparation for the 2018 World Cup.
Iran has been drawn in Group B alongside former World Cup winner Spain, reigning European champion Portugal and Morocco.
Team Melli will start the event with a match against Morocco on June 15.
Iran’s slogan at the 2018 World Cup is “80 million people, one nation, one heartbeat”.
