We Needed Victory against China: Igor Kolakovic
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran national volleyball team coach Igor Kolakovic says he is very happy for beating China in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
Team Melli eased past China on Friday in straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-15) during week three of the VNL in Ufa Arena in Russia.
“We’re all happy about this victory after such a long flight. I’m very glad for my players and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them," Kolakovic said in the post-match news conference.
"Match against China was a very important game for us. We needed this victory, we needed this kind of game, because every single ball is important to us,” he added.
Iran captain Mir Saeid Marouf, meanwhile, said, “It was not an easy match for us. The flight from Argentina to Russia was long.”
