John Toshack Takes Charge of Iran's Tractor Sazi
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian football club Tractor Sazi has appointed John Benjamin Toshack as new head coach on Friday.
The 69-year-old Welshman has signed a three-year contract with Tractor Sazi for an undisclosed fee.
Toshack has won La Liga title with Real Madrid in 1990 and Copa del Rey in 1987 as head coach of Real Sociedad.
Toshack, who has started his coaching career in Swansea City in 1978, has also led Real Sociedad, Saint-Étienne, Besiktas, Sporting CP, Catania, Real Murcia and Wydad Casablanca.
He also headed Wales and Macedonia national football teams.
Tractor Sazi is going to end its title drought in Iran Professional League (IPL) with Toshack.
