Kolakovic Happy with Iran’s Performance against Brazil

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran lost to Brazil 3-2 (25-17, 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13) in week three of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Saturday but Igor Kolakovic is satisfied with his young men’s performance.

“It was a great game. Brazil is a fantastic opponent. Our team has a lot of talented guys and in this game, they’ve shown what they’re capable of,” Kolakovic said in the post-match news conference.

“Maybe we didn’t have enough power or stamina to finish this game with a victory, but we’re still very pleased with this game because Brazil is fantastic to play against,” he added.

Iran outside hitter Milad Ebadipour also said they played their best against Brazil until the very end.

“We played against the best team in the world and it wasn’t an easy game for us, but it wasn’t also a bad game for us,” Ebadipour said.

“We didn’t lose options and kept fighting for victory, and because of that, we played our best until the very end. They’re the best in the world and they kept pushing us all the time,” he added.
