Fresh US-Led Strike Kills 12 Civilians in Syria’s Hasakah

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 12 civilians lost their lives when the US-led coalition purportedly fighting terrorism carried out an airstrike against Syria’s troubled northeastern province of Hasakah.

SANA news agency reported that the aerial attack targeted Tal al-Shayer village, located in the southeastern countryside of Hasakah, on Tuesday.

Last month, the US-led warplanes carried out similar strikes on Hasakah, killing 25 people in al-Fadhel village near al-Shaddadi town in the southern part of the province, located 650 kilometers (400 miles) northeast of the capital Damascus.

The US-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes against what are said to be Daesh targets inside Syria since September 2014 without any authorization from the Damascus government or a UN mandate.

The military alliance has repeatedly been accused of targeting and killing civilians. It has also been largely incapable of achieving its declared goal of destroying Daesh.
