In separate messages to his opposite numbers, Larijani expressed the hope that in light of the Islamic teachings and an atmosphere of solidarity among Muslims, true Islam, which is based on peace, kindness, and friendship, would be known to the world.

“I firmly believe that in the current world, the role and function of the parliaments of Islamic countries will be very effective in countering challenges facing the Muslim world,” he said.

Eid al-Fitr, also called Feast of Breaking the Fast, is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world at the end of Ramadan.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, marks the most special of all occasions.

On the day of Eid al-Fitr, Muslims attend prayers in congregation, listen to sermons and give Zakat al-Fitr or donations to the poor.
