Friendly: Iran U-16 Football Team Beats Azerbaijan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran U-16 football team defeated Azerbaijan twice as part of preparations for the AFC U-16 Championship 2018.
Abbas Chamanian’s boys, who had defeated Azerbaijan 5-1 in their first warm-up match, defeated the team 4-0 for the second time on Tuesday.
The AFC U-16 Championship Malaysia is slated for September 20 - October 7 with the participation of 16 teams.
The Iranian team has been drawn with Vietnam, Indonesia and India in Group C of the competition.
The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru as the AFC representatives.
